the Lidia series marks a milestone in Murano glass design. Created in the 1950s by Umberto Nason, each piece combines clarity of form and defined volume, establishing a dialogue between shape and color that remains strikingly modern. Bicolor bowls and glasses - white outside, vivid hues inside - showcase the incamiciato rovesciato technique, blending craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetic. The contrast between luminous interior and opaque exterior gives each piece a timeless presence, making it a collectable icon of modern design. Awarded the Compasso d’Oro from La Rinascente in 1955, the series joined the MoMA’s permanent collection the following year, through a gift from Philip Johnson.
